Airtable is clearly a very powerful tool and it thrives in this no-code space where complex data-structures require unique solutions. The flexibility of the software is undeniable and the CEO of Airtable, Howie Liu, has compared it to a box of Legos on multiple occasions. However, the front-end of Airtable isn't quite as flexible. Over the years, we've experienced numerous use-cases where clients weren't able to share or display their data as they intended.
This is why I was so excited when I first learned about Softr.io - this new software recently announced a $2.2M seed round of investment and they are tackling this very problem for Airtable users.
Softr uses small code sections that they call BLOCKS to allow you to build an interactive webpage or app that gets data from your Airtable base. While there are some other tools already in existence that offer a similar solution, Softr is unique in that it can be used to create member sites and other dynamic apps. With Softr, you can determine what parts of a webpage are visible to your visitors, depending on who they are.
I remain in awe of the amazing tools that others are building to support the Airtable ecosystem. Softr is certainly worth a trial run if you're looking for a new way to display your Airtable data.
